Two human rights sources have reported the issuance of death sentences for five protesters in January 2018 in Iran.

According to these reports, Mehdi Salehi Ghaleh Shahrokhi, Mohammad Bastami, Majid Nazari Kondari, Hadi Kiani and Abbas Mohammadi, all of whom were arrested in Khomeini Shahr, Isfahan, on charges of violation of the rights of others, were sentenced to death for one or two times. No further details have been released.

Before this, three other people were also sentenced to death because of their participation in Iran’s recent protests (September 2019).
