In a predicted event, SCOTUS overturned the Roe v Wade decision and decided that every state in U.S. should decide on its own about women abortion rights. This overturn holds that there is no longer a federal constitutional right to an abortion.
While those in Germany are abolishing Nazi-era laws, forbidding doctors from providing information about abortions, those in Supreme Court of the United States are bringing them back. While those in Germany are making progress about human rights, Those in United States are taking America back to the Middle Ages. I’m pretty sure if they could, they would’ve burn some women accused of witchery.
“For almost a century, doctors have been forbidden and punishable by penalty from providing factual information about methods and possible risks to women who are considering terminating a pregnancy,” Justice Minister Marco Buschmann of Germany said in a statement.
“Today, this time of distrust in women and distrust in doctors is coming to an end.”
Any criminal court sentences handed down based on the law since October 1990 will also be repealed, and any ongoing proceedings will be discontinued.
However, in America, English speaking Taliban is taking power and enforces sharia laws on people. Speaking of which, neo-Republicans are constantly emphasizing the lie of Christian foundation of United States. I guess they know how to repeat a lie just enough times to make people believe it. After all, they are professional liars from Middle Ages.
Republicans are repeating a lie that United States is built and founded on Christian grounds and belief. Republicans, who constantly shout the First Amendment, believe the ruling and law enforcing in United States should be to establish Christian belief.
They may have forget to read the First Amendment. The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. Neo-Republicans ignore this and believe in Christian ruling. Christian belief is one of the arguments they bring to the abortion discussion.
However, they, again, forgot that United States is not a religious country and ruling it based on religious belief is in fact against the constitution they seem to very much like, but act against.
Republicans very much like to tell the lie that America was founded as a Christian nation and if the founding fathers were here today, they tell us so. Here’s John Adams in the Treaty of Tripoli:
As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoly
And here’s Thomas Jefferson:
Our civil rights have no dependence on our religious opinionThe Virginia Act for Establishing Religious Freedom
And here’s, again, the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:
Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religionConstitution of the United States
Today the sensible, sane, smart Republicans are too frightened of losing their political careers and battles to the religious zealots that they’ve thrown in the towel on sanity so they have to repeat they lies they were told and act in a way that the clown majority of insane Republicans desire. They have to speak, campaign, put on a show, and more dangerously, pass laws that satisfies the neo-Republicans.
They’ll try and do anything, no matter what is the outcome and no matter who truly it serves, to save their political careers and remain in power for their personal interest. They have no desire and will to serve and protect the people, but they have all it takes to benefit from their time in power and they’ll do absolutely anything to protect their position.
One of the examples is in fact the overturn of Roe v Wade. Let’s not forget that Trump promised judges that will overturn it. Judges who act to satisfy their masters, not to protect and serve the people in a manner that the constitution they claim to believe in asks them to.
However, it is still an irony that the biggest enemy of the Republicans is not Obama, Biden, Clinton, or Ketanji Brown Jackson, he is actually Jesus. The same Jesus these Republicans are constantly talking about, the same Jesus these Republicans and so-called conservatives are continuously reading its bible should be their biggest enemy.
He should be their biggest enemy as he invited his followers to do exactly opposite of what is Republicans’ belief and agenda. While Republicans do whatever they can to take away people’s freedoms and enforce their inhumane laws on them, and while they deny basic human rights such as free healthcare and housing for people, Jesus asked his followers for a complete opposite thing.
He said heal the sick, feed the hungry, care for the weakest among us, and always pray in private. Now I’m not responsible for what meaning Republicans take from these words and how they do analysis and interpretation, but I believe these words were clear enough for a Christian person to listen to.
There are symptoms and characteristics that describe these people:
- Ideological purity
- Compromise as weakness
- A fundamentalist belief in scriptural literalism
- Denying science
- Unmoved by facts
- Undeterred by new information
- A hostile fear of progress
- A demonetization of education
- A need to control women’s bodies
- Severe xenophobia
- Tribal mentality
- Intolerance of dissent
- Pathological hatred of United States Government
They are, as Aaron Sorkin and his political series describe them, American Taliban, and American Taliban can’t survive if people are informed and insane people are not given a chance to rule people. Every sane person will see the pattern and tries to stop the moving of United States to a fascist dictatorial regime, what it has been moving ahead to for a long time now.
The overturn of Roe v Wade is a huge success for them and is a shame for a nation that believes in freedom, or at least acts like it. However, it should be well kept in mind that it’s a not a single act and it’s not a stop point for Republicans and other dictatorship-loving politicians; it’s just a start.
As much as people should fight against this ruling, they should fight to stop the movement of this dangerous party and belief.
